Canvas: can students alter their own grades?

Canvas includes a feature for students to test “What-If” scenarios on their course grades. Canvas: add new grade column

There are many ways to add new gradable items to your Canvas site. In this case, you’ll be adding a column where you can enter numeric grades for an IN-CLASS quiz or assignment (in other words, not an assignment or quiz that the students submit through Canvas).

Canvas: upload document to Modules

There are several ways you can share documents with your students in Canvas, but this is probably the simplest, if you are using the Modules page.
