Introducing Khanmigo Teacher Tools
A new external tool set is available on Canvas. Khamingo is a generative AI-enhanced set of teacher tools that may help with time-consuming tasks. Khanmigo, developed by Khan Academy, is available in Canvas through a new partnership.
What Can Khanmigo Do?
The range of AI-powered aids includes tools for planning course content, creating teaching-related materials, and supporting students. The ones that might be most useful for higher education are listed below. Simply select college as the grade level and answer the questions to clarify your context.
- Discussion Prompts – This tool will suggest multiple discussion prompts related to the topic that you can edit for your course.
- Learning Objectives – This tool will suggest measurable learning objectives for a course or module when developing or revising a course.
- Question Generator – Want to include knowledge checks during class? This tool will suggest questions based on the materials you are using.
- Multiple Choice Quiz – Want to develop a quiz quickly? This tool will create quiz questions based on Khan Academy topics or your content. You can print the quiz or export it to OneDrive, Google Drive, or as a Google Form. Unfortunately, it is not saved as a Canvas Quiz.
- Rubric Generator – This tool helps you create rubrics by providing an overview of the assignment and selecting categories you want to use for assessment. You can choose a 3-point, 4-point, or 5-point rubric, and it will suggest the performance indicators. It can not yet be added to the Canvas rubrics directly.
- Letter of Recommendation – Getting started with a letter of recommendation can be time-consuming. With this tool, you provide the student’s name, what they are being recommended for, and the student’s qualities and accomplishments. This tool offers a letter you can edit and export as a document or share with a link.
How Do You Add the Khanmigo to a Canvas Course?
