You can post website links in various places (from a Lessons pages or in Resources), but if it’s a critical website your students should use frequently (eg, the Libraries, a textbook page), you may wish to create the link in the course site menu with the Web Content tool:
- make sure you know the website address (URL) you’ll be sharing!
- find the exact website in your browser
- click in the address bar to select the full address
- copy the selected text (ctrl-c OR right-click and copy)
- now, log into Sakai at http://sakai.rutgers.edu
- click on the course tab across the top
- click the Site Info tool on the left
- choose the Manage Tools button at the top of the page
- open the Content Sharing Tools section and select Web Content
- fill in a title that makes sense to your students (eg, Library of Congress), then paste in the URL
- click the Finish button at the bottom of the page and your new link will appear in the site menu at the left
