You can post website links in various places (from a Lessons pages or in Resources), but if it’s a critical website your students should use frequently (eg, the Libraries, a textbook page), you may wish to create the link in the course site menu with the Web Content tool:

  1. make sure you know the website address (URL) you’ll be sharing!
    1. find the exact website in your browser
    2. click in the address bar to select the full address
    3. copy the selected text (ctrl-c OR right-click and copy)
  2. now, log into Sakai at http://sakai.rutgers.edu
  3. click on the course tab across the top
  4. click the Site Info tool on the left
  5. choose the Manage Tools button at the top of the page
  6. open the Content Sharing Tools section and select Web Content
  7. fill in a title that makes sense to your students (eg, Library of Congress), then paste in the URL
  8. click the Finish button at the bottom of the page and your new link will appear in the site menu at the left

the URL is in the address bar at the top of the browser page
