eCollege: Adding links to “Text/Multimedia” pages
Use the Visual Editor toolbar to add links to external files, images, and websites; to files you upload to eCollege; or even to other course tools (such as a link from your assignment to the Dropbox where students will upload their work). In order to access the Visual Editor, make sure you are in Author mode of a Text/Multimedia Content Item.
Link to external sites
- On the Visual Editor toolbar, click “Add a link”
- Select Link to website, and click Continue
- In the fields provided, enter information:
- Text to display: Type the text students will click on to open the website
- Website address: Paste in the address to the website
- Click Add Link, then click Save Changes
Link to your documents
- On the Visual Editor toolbar, click the Link button
- Select “Link to Content or Files,” and click Continue
- At this point, you can either:
- Upload Content
- In the Text to display field, type the text students will click to open and view the content
- Click Choose File to locate and upload the file; click “Add Link” then “Save Changes”
- Select Content from Course Folder
- In the Text to display field, type the text students will click to open and view the content
- Select the file already in your course site; click “Add Link” then “Save Changes”
