Faculty Workshops, May & June 2005

Workshops are hands-on training opportunities, requiring preregistration. In general, these sessions are brief, but follow-up sessions are always available, including one-on-one training at your deskside.

If you have some familiarity with WebCT, this workshop will give you more practice with adding and editing your own:

  • content modules (as for a list of lecture notes)
  • organizer pages
  • single pages
  • syllabus options
  • moving documents from Word to WebCT

You may bring (or save to your Crab account) Word documents of lecture notes, syllabi, etc.

Tables in Word...and to the web

We'll learn the simple yet life-changing power of formatting text in Microsoft Word with TABLES. Give up the crooked columns and bizarrely-wrapped lines of the space-space-tab alignment nightmare. Learn how moving Word documents to the web or to WebCT can be virtually painless!

What are your options for making PowerPoint presentations available online, either on a website or via WebCT? Bring a PowerPoint presentation if you like, or practice with a sample file.

  • posting a full presentation (.ppt)
  • saving your presentation as a web page
  • converting your presentation to Acrobat format (.pdf)
