Sakai for students: submit Assignment via attachment
- Log into Sakai with your Rutgers NetID and password at http://sakai.rutgers.edu
- Click on the tab for your course
- Click the Assignments tool in the left-hand margin
- Any open assignments will be visible.
- To view and/or submit an assignment, click its title
- Read the instructions (if any) or click to download an attached assignment handout (if any)
- If the assignment reads "This assignment allows submissions by attaching documents only" then continue with these instructions
- To submit your assignment as an attachment, you must create your document in another program (such as Word or Excel), save it to your computer, then "attach" it as your assignment
- When your document is ready, click the "Add Attachments" button in the Sakai assignment
- You must now "Upload local file" by clicking the "Browse" button and locating your completed assignment where it is stored on your computer (hard drive, flash drive, floppy disk, etc.)
- When you locate the correct file, select it and click "Open"
- You're not finished yet!
- Click "Continue"
- You will see your document listed as an attachment. Now click "Submit" to complete the submission of your assignment

- You will now see a confirmation of your submission and will also receive the confirmation via email
- Click "OK" to return to the assignment list
- Be sure to log off when you're done with Sakai
