Swank Digital Campus allows Rutgers instructors to embed and share videos with their classes. If you are required to view one of these videos in your course, it’s important to verify you meet the technical requirements for streaming the videos on your computer. Note: you must have a Mac or Windows computer (not a mobile device).

Installing Microsoft Silverlight

Microsoft Silverlight is required to view Swank videos in Sakai. You can install Microsoft Silverlight here (if you aren’t sure whether or not you have Silverlight, this site will automatically check if you have it already installed).

Browser requirements

You should log into Sakai to access Swank videos in the following browsers:

  • Firefox (v12 or higher)
    • You may be asked to activate the Silverlight plugin the first time you click on the video. After activating the plugin and clicking “Allow,” go back to the page where you found the video link and click on it again. The video should load.
  • IE (version depends on your version of Windows- click “System Requirements” to view)
    • You may be asked to verify a security message. After clicking ok, go back to the page where you found the video link and click on it again. The video should load.

Videos will not load in Chrome or Safari at this time.
