Sakai: Add Announcements

Announcements are posted to your Sakai site (most recent appear on the home page) and sent simultaneously as email to all students—if you specify this! In addition, course announcements are archived on the Sakai site so that students can return to view older messages. To create an announcement:

  • Click Announcements in the left-hand menu
  • Click the button “Add”
  • Give your announcement a title, then type out the message body
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and change the “Email Notification” to “High – all participants” if you want students to receive this as email
  • Click “Add Announcement”
  • Note that you will also receive a copy of the announcement in your email.

For many instructors, the Announcements tool has replaced RAMS lists.
